Franklin kiddos at the Zoo

Amy and I took the little ones to the Zoo yesterday since it was almost 70 degrees. They had so much fun. They rode the carousel and got to play on the playground. But, Gideon's favorite thing was still looking at the animals. Specifically, the lion and the llama. Annalise was happy in the backpack. All the kids were thrilled when Da (or Uncus to Alayna, Nathanael, and Alexander) showed up. Forgot to take any pics of Alexander. But, I think he enjoyed his outdoor nap in his stroller.

Yodel Farms with calves

These pics are a few weeks old. Damon and Fran have a couple of new GORGEOUS jersey calves. We took the kids over to Yodel Farms (where the calves are living until D and F are ready for them) to see them. Damon and Fran got some beautiful shots. I love the smile on Gideon's face. That boy loves animals.

Even more of Lake Guntersville Lodge

Here are some more shots of the Lodge. Just beautiful.

Gideon's Discovery

This is a shot of Gideon that we love . He was really taken with this cave we found on our hike. He was a little nervous about going in because we had just read a book about children searching for a lion in a cave. But, it was just too cool watching his amazement.

More Lake Guntersville

The Lodge and the view from our room.

Lake Guntersville

We took our little brood to Lake Guntersville State Park for the night. We had such a wonderful time. We were able to hike 3 or 4 miles on some really beautiful trails. We stayed in the recently renovated lodge. If you have not been, you should put it on your list. It is so lovely. We have lots of pics. The children did fantastic on the hike. Annalise loves her backpack so much that she lunges for it whnever we get it out. Gideon was a real trooper. He walked the majority of the way. Such a fine little man.

Our little scholar

Here is Gideon playing with his magnetic letters that he received for Christmas. He is really enjoying them and they are helping a great deal with letter recognition. We have been kind of throwing in a bit of phonics as well. This morning he brought the letter "R" to me and said "Here is letter R. Letter R starts Arby's." I have not had the heart to correct him yet. It was such a good try. He is getting to be such a big boy.

Annalise in her throne

This is too cute. I guess a popsicle feels good to a girl who is cutting her SIXTH tooth.

Here is a picture of Jake working on our soon to be pasture. He has been working really hard on clearing, and is now placing the posts. He has a lot of hard work to do and will be doing almost all of it on his own. I am very proud of him and his dedication. The first picture is of Gideon enjoying a juice popsicle that we made. I actually think that it is not only his first homemade popsicle, but his first popsicle period. He never cared for them when he was younger, He thought they were too cold. He is getting so big. He will be playing 3 year old soccer this spring . We are very excited.

Annalise's daily baptismal by Brother

Just thought this was a cool picture. Poor Annalise is constantly getting water poured over her head and face by Gideon. We caught this shot just in time. She looks like she is crying, but she is really laughing. She is a pretty good sport.

Snaggle Tooth Franklin

We are very hopeful that Annalise's other top teeth will be in at some point. Her one top tooth gets bigger everyday, and she is looking a little peculiar. Of course, we think she is lovely no matter what.
